Wareham Town Band still exists as it has done since the late 1800's. It has always been a wind band (and still is) but during 1937 and 1938 there were enough Brass players to contest. For these contests, the wind players were excluded from the contest ensemble but would still play at concerts etc, and were still full members of the band.
